The Beginning

Why Brainshirt

Maybe one or the other of you can remember a similar situation. You buy a shirt, a premium product, quite expensive, supposedly the best quality. And
then you unpack the shirt and read “Made in China” on the label of origin. When I had this experience a few years ago, I wondered whether it was really so
must be. Whether it is really not possible for premium products in the textile industry to be manufactured in Europe at an attractive price.
You will see, it works.

The current situation

Actually, a men’s shirt is a completely unproblematic product. Actually, at least for so long. At least until you get a little more involved with the production process. Use of pesticides on cotton farms, chemicals during further processing, dyeing of yarns, weaving, processing in low-wage countries, child labour, environmental pollution …

In no other sector is the division of the world into rich and poor more pronounced than in the textile industry. Nevertheless, the question remains: won’t we be sawing off the branch on which we ourselves sit?

And what begins with the production of cotton goes on to processing and confectioning, right through to retail sales. For finished Chinese shirts you pay about 13 euros in purchasing and in Germany these are then sold as premium products for 179 euros. If even the absolute German brand manufacturers no longer have their shirts manufactured in Europe but in Vietnam, as in a particularly prominent example, the question arises as to whether we as consumers simply have to accept this.

The task

“Not only talk, act!”

So the task was clear:

    • A perfect men’s shirt,
    • made from organic cotton,
    • fabric made and woven in Europe,

fabric

  • stitched by a European garment maker, who submits to fair labour and social standards,
  • at an attractive price.

Read on how we succeeded in implementing it.

The solution

Almost ten years have passed since the first considerations were made. With brainshirt we offer you today not only the cleanest, but also one of the highest quality men’s shirts currently available in Germany.

The difference to conventional products is made by the points mentioned in the icons, which are unique in their combination.

It is only because we control the production process in this way that a brainshirt is so unique.
